 Study assistance
Starting from the second half year of the year of your 20:th birthday you may apply for study assistance for studies at folk high school (folkhögskola), municipal or state adult educaion or other upper secondary school education (gymnasieutbildning). You may also apply for
study assistance for studies at a university, university college (högskola) or other post secondary school education (eftergymnasial utbildning). Study assistance may be granted up to the year of your 50:th birthday. After the age of 50 you may only receive study assistance for work related cources in areas where
thera are a lack of work force. The government decides which courses are valid. If you´re not a swedish citizen, there are special rules.

|

You haven´t had had study assistance within five years before the course start.

|
If your municipality (sv: kommun) assess that you have a short education and you are, or risk to become, unemployed or
if you have a functional disability which makes it necessary for you to have extra study time - then you may be in the target group
for the recruitment grants.

To apply for recruitment grants, please contact the guidence councelour at your municipal adult education centre (sv: Komvux).

Grants/month
|
Recruitment grants is solely a grant and does not contain any loan. The grant is for 1 694 or 2 076 kr/week.

Studies abroad
|

Prerequisits
|
- Basic competense.
- Swedish citizen.
- Nationally registered in Sweden the last two years before the course begin.
Exceptions can be done. Always contact CSN for a discussion before studies abroad.

Studies, full time, must be at least 13 weeks. The school and the education shall be approved for study assistance.

|
Application for study assistance for studies abroad is done on form 5501,
"Application for study assistance for studies abroad".

Grants/month
|
The study grants are the same for everyone, regardless of the country where you are studying. The grants for 2003 is set to 582 kr/week.

|
CSN set the loan amounts for studies abroad every year. The amount of the loan is different depending on the country where you are studying.

Särskild prövning
Om du är utländsk medborgare och vill studera med svenskt studiestöd eller rekryteringsbidrag gör vi en särskild prövning i två steg. Vi prövar först om du har rätt att ansöka om svenskt studiestöd i allmänhet, så kallad principiell rätt.
Om du är medborgare i Europeiska unionen (EU) eller ett land som omfattas av avtalet om det europeiska ekonomiska samarbetsområdet (EES) kan din ansökan också komma att prövas enligt EG-rätten.
Steg två
Om du beviljas rätt till studiestöd, görs en andra prövning. Det innebär att CSN prövar om du uppfyller villkoren för rekryteringsbidraget eller för det studiestöd du ansökt om. Mer information om villkoren för att ansöka om svenskt studiestöd hittar du på CSNs hemsida.
